"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 7:7,8
Today while I was reading my Bible God brought something to mind that I want to share. I was struck by these verses. I've read these verses a thousand times but today God brought a new thought to mind.
God will open doors when we knock.
God doesn't just give us our desires or our wants. We need to ask, seek, and knock.
Ask = beg, crave, desire
Seek = desire, endeavour, enquire
Knock = consistent rapping until you get an answer (my definition)
When you have a desire do you ASK God for it, SEEK His will for it, and KNOCK consistently until He answers?
ASK : "Pray without ceasing." I Thessalonians 5:17
Go to God with your desires, dreams, and decisions. God isn't going to just make everything happen for you. We need to go to Him in faith believing He will answer.
SEEK : "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33
Seek God's will first. It's hard to put our wants and wishes down but we must be willing to if we truly want God's will in our life. He only wants what is best for us so why wouldn't we be willing to give up our wants for something so much better that only He can see??
KNOCK :
When I think of knock I think of wanting a door to open for some reason. That's why we knock isn't it? I believe that God wants us to keep knocking or praying until He answers us. Be persistent and have faith that He will answer in His time and in His way.
So the next time you are faced with a decision, you have a dream to pursue, or you have a desire, go to God and ASK, SEEK, and KNOCK.

"I beseech ye thee therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrafice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1,2 (KJV)

A Texas Sky
This weekend the ladies of our church attended a wonderful ladies retreat in Canyon Texas. We had a wonderful time as always!
Each year that I go I am struck by the beauty that surrounds us. To some people it's plain or barren, but to me it's beautiful. Rolling hills, small valleys and land that stretches on as far as the eye can see. But the thing that always gets my attention is the enormous Texas sky. Looking at the clear blue sky with wisps of white clouds a verse came to mind:
"For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." Psalms 102:11,12
What an awesome thought that is!! God's mercy is as endless as the rolling plains of Texas!! Our sins are "as far as the east is from the west", so basically, never brought up again once we've asked God's forgiveness!! Praise the Lord!!
All creation proclaims the glory of the Lord! Look around and take in the beauty God has blessed us with and thank Him for it. Just a thought for you as you take in the sky wherever you may be!
