He Arose!!!!

Tomorrow is Resurection Sunday or Easter Sunday! This is the day we remember how Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He conquered death and made the way for us to live forever with Him in Heaven! Praise God! What an awesome time this is. I pray that you will look to Christ today. Easter isn't about the egg hunts, the Easter bunny, or even time spent with family. It's not about the new clothes, the good food, or the candy. This is the time we rejoice in Jesus Christ's resurection! He died for us to pay the penalty of sin and then He rose again breaking the power of death! I know that when I die I will be in Heaven with God for all eternity and you can know also. I am so thankful for God's great gift to us. Praise God for His love and His wonderful gift of Salvation!

"And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint Him. And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun. And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? and when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: He is risen: He is not here: behold the place where they laid Him. But go your way, tell His disciples and Peter that He goeth before your into Galilee: there shall ye see Him, as He said unto you." Mark 16:1-7

Rain...

Have you ever thought about the rain? I just want to share a thought I had earlier today. It has been very rainy today and I love it! I don't why but I think rain is one of the most beautiful things God has created.

Think about it:
God sends rain on the Earth to wash it clean, just as He sends the rain from His word to cleanse our lives.

Sometimes we have trials in our life and all we can see are the clouds. But God sends those trials or the "rain" in our lives to cause us to look to Him. Do you remember the story of Noah and the ark? After all the rain God placed a rainbow in the sky as a reminder of His promise never again to flood the whole Earth. God still places a "rainbow" in the sky of life after the "rain" as a promise that He is there with us each step of the way. Although we may only see the clouds, God sees the rainbow. So remember that God is walking with you even in the cloudy and rainy days and someday soon you will see that rainbow.

Blessings,
Linda

Have you ever been angry?

I never really thought that I could get angry so quickly. I don't get angry to the point of hurting anyone or doing things I would regret but I allow that anger to grow inside my heart.

Have you ever done that?

I was at work today and I was told that something I asked for was not able to be granted to me. That made me angry. I know that some of the reason my request was not granted was my fault but some of it was also just circumstances. But still I was angry. How did this help the situation? It didn't. Although I didn't voice my anger, I let it simmer. This afternoon, God gently reminded me of a verse and I'd like to share that with you.

"Wherefore, my beloved brethern, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:" James 1:19

What a verse! How often are we swift to hear?

Or slow to speak?

Or slow to wrath?

Listen to this next verse:

"For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God." James 1:20

Anger is not something that ought to be a part of us. Things shouldn't make our blood boil like that. It's important to remember that nothing in this life matters as much as living for God. As Christians, we may be the only Bible that some people will ever read. If we allow ourselves to become angry over small things, or even bigger things, we could lose our testimony. There is a time for anger but it needs to be controlled by the Holy Spirit. This is as much for me as it is for anyone else. I just realized today how often I have been angry over such small things. Am I losing my testimony to my coworkers when I allow that anger in?

I believe the answer is YES. Whether I am talking about it with them or not, it shows on my face. If you are angry do you smile? If you are happy do you frown? So the next time Satan tempts you to be angry, pray and ask God to help you keep your testimony and a good attitude.

Until next time,
Linda

My Testimony

This is the beginning of a journey I would like to share with all of you who decide to follow this blog. I am a Christian and I want to live my life For God Alone. You may get tired of me talking about that but it is a theme I have forgotten for a little while, I am ashamed to say. It should be the only theme for a Christians life. We shouldn't be worried about what other people think, only what God thinks. After all, He is the one who died on the cross for our sins, the One who was in the tomb for three days, and the One who rose again on that third day! Praise the Lord! Now He is preparing a place for all who will accept His free gift of salvation. I accepted that gift a few years ago and I can tell you it was the best decision I ever made. I'm not saying my life has been easy or that it will be a walk in the park in the future. But I do know that God is with me each step of the way and He will never forsake me.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 (KJV)

If you have never asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins and asked Him to save you, today is the day of salvation! He will change your life for the better! You may think your life couldn't get any better. But I am here to tell you, it can!

I want to share with you the story of my salvation. I grew up in a Christian home and I was at church every service. I loved going to church, memorizing verses, and being a happy little girl who loved Jesus. I thought I was saved for a long time. I had gone to the altar and prayed but I never really got saved. I was doing it for show and because it was what was expected of me. It wasn't until everything in my life was crashing down around me-my family, my church, my dreams-that I realized I couldn't live my life without Christ. I knew I was a sinner and that God had sent His only son to cross for me. I asked Him to forgive me and save me. And what a night that was! I had been a fake Christian for so long but at that moment I knew that when I died I would see my Lord and Saviour. I am so thankful that God was patient with me. And I know that no matter what I do I can never lose that salvation. Nothing I do will help me keep it or allow me to lose it.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8,9

If you are searching for an answer to your problems, I pray that you will look to God. He is the only answer to anything we face.

May God bless you and guide you,

Linda
